NounBlade (plural Blades)
AnagramsFrom Wiktionary under the GNU Free Documentation License. A blade is the flat part of a tool, weapon, or machine (such as a fan) that normally has a cutting edge and/or pointed end typically made of a flaking stone, such as flint, or metal, most recently steel. A blade is used to cut, stab, slash, chop, slice, thrust, position and/or place (an example of this is razor wire), or scrape (an example of this is an ink eraser). UsesBlades are used for utility purposes (food, craft, and outdoors, primarily) and for combat. When used for food preparation, the main uses are slicing (cutting by drawing the blade across the object, applying light pressure) and chopping (cutting by pushing the blade through object), with some piercing (using the tip to cut through the surface). In combat, a blade may be used to slash (cut with the edge, generally in a swinging motion), stab (plunge the blade in, starting with the tip and proceeding as the blade enters more deeply), or throw/shoot (throwing a throwing knife so the point enters the target). Blades may also be used to scrape, moving the blade sideways across a surface, as in an ink eraser, rather than along or through a surface. From Wikipedia under the

The problem is that the blade keeps settling to the bottom of the pan. How do I prepare this tasty dessert so that the blade is in the middle, and out of sight? Asked by paul67337 - Thu Aug 9 22:02:11 2007 - - 4 Answers - 0 Comments A. You can try wrapping the hacksaw blade in some waxed paper first which ought to create enough air pockets around it to keep it from sinking to the bottom of the cake pan. Or, you can bake two layers and conceal the blade in the frosting between the 2 layers and not bake it into the layers at all since you seem to have a problem with it sinking. Just tell your buddy to be careful taking that first bite...OUCH! Does this make me an "accessory"...? LOL Answered by AUBURN - Thu Aug 9 22:11:57 2007 What type of saw blade do I need to cut cheap wood without splintering? Q. The cheap pine quarter-round is splintering when cut. Because one side is rounded, and the angles are crucial, I can't cut from the back. I'm using a compound miter saw. When I revert to cutting the laminate flooring or oak baseboard, the cuts are smooth. It must be the cheap pine... but buying all new quarter round is not an option (there's lots of it). I need extra blades anyway... what blade do I need get smooth cuts on cheap pine without splintering? Thanks! As far as the blade, for cross cutting (as you are doing) the more teeth the blade has the better. I use 80 tooth blades for my cross cutting and place a scrap back piece also. This should give you a clean cut if you slowly cut the wood and not try to CHOP through it. Answered by Long S - Sun May 27 23:16:47 2007 What is the best way to remove the edge of a blade?
Q. For whatever reason I'm looking to take an inexpensive sword and remove the edge of the blade. NOT the blade itself. If I want to take the whole sword apart I can. I'm basically looking for the best way to dull a blade (be it sword or knife) without complealy destorying it. Asked by Bard Noir - Sat Nov 24 12:22:32 2007 - - 4 Answers - 1 Comments A. Depends what you have to work with. I have a full machine shop so I would put a fine,(400),belt on my belt sander and at 90 deg. lightly draw across breaking the edge.Follow up with a touch on the Beartex deburring wheel, and final with a hard felt buffing wheel charged with fine compound. If I was stuck at home,I would use a sharpening stone, the flat side,at 90 deg. to the edge to create a small flat. Follow up with 400 emery paper wrapped around the stone to work in a small radius, follow up with 600 emery and finer,1000 grit or so to polish the false edge to final.
