Do you think giving the academy award for one guy for achievement in visual effects fair?
Q. There are thousands of creative people who work on a feature film for bringing a perfect 3D and VFX shot. But in the end a single person gets the fame and an academy award for achievement in visual effects. Is it fair or unfair

A. Of course it is not exactly fair but someone has to be in charge of the effects dept and so the one or two or three people in charge are the ones honored. Ideally, I'm sure that the crew that helped them to capture those effects are brought along with them on the next movie and eventually those people not recognized are going to start advancing through the ranks and become heads of depts on new movies and eventually the most talented people will make their way to the top of the heap and will be the ones to receive the awards. I'm sure that just like in other businesses there are people who will unscrupulously hold back those talented underlings working for them. That's where the true unfairness comes in. But those talented folks will… [cont.]

Can they compete with themselves for the Academy Award?
Q. Let's say a director manage to produce 2 good movies in a year or an actor/actress act well in 2 good movies. Can the actor or director be nominated for best actor or best director for each of the 2 different films? Can he/she be competing with himself for the Academy Award for the 2 films produced? That is, Director X nominated for Best Director in Movie A against Director X nominated for Best Director in Movie B?

How would you feel If Miley cyrus won an Academy Award?
Q. I saw an interview with her a while back and she was talking about how she can't wait to go to the academy awards and get nominated. than she was saying how she hopes her movie gets picked for a nominee. Honestly, If this happened and she got nominatted for a ACademy Award. I would probably never watch any award shows agian or move to alaska.

A. If the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences ever comes up with an award called "can't act his/her way out of a paper bag", Muley certainly will be nominated. What a joke she is! She's a complete waste of space.

A. Or comedy!! Some of the best acting roles are performed in comedy, but the actors rarely are recognized for their portrayals. It's all about the snobbery of Hollywood. Travolta, for instance, should have been nominated for his role as Edna Turnblad in Hairspray.

A. I sure hope so, even though I really hope that it's not just for the sake of his or her skin color. I think it's a real shame that the progress of both race equality and women's rights and equality has been so incredibly sluggish over the past 50 or so years. If anything would ever happened to even HINT that white, Anglosaxen MEN might be handled unfairly or with prejudice, all holy Hell would have broken out by now. In my book, talent is talent ...regardless of skin color.

What Actor Has Appeared In The Most "Best Films" Academy Award Winners?
Q. I think it's Jack Nicholson with 3 Wins (One Flew Over the Cuckoos Nest, Terms of Endearment, and The Departed) and 4 More Nominations. Has any other actor or actress surpassed that?
Asked by Sam D - Mon Nov 10 22:11:08 2008 - - 3 Answers - 0 Comments

A. Not in the wins category for best actor Walter brennan took three Oscars, but all for supporting actor. Peter O'Toole has the most nomination without a win at 8. Lawrence Olivier and Spencer Tracy had the most nominations with 9. however kathryn Hepburn has Four Oscars with 12 nominations. Meryl Streep has 14 nominations, but a "mere" two oscars (one lead, one support)
