You can use x and y as the 2 alloys, like x as the 25% and y as the 50%. The variables are used as the amounts, so 45% wouldn't need one. Add the two and you get 1000, that's your first equation. Then use the percents (25, 45, and 50) with the amounts (your variables and the 1000) to make a second equation. From there you can use elimination, substitution, etc. to figure out the 2 variables.
