As moderator, can I set the group calendar so that email calendar reminders are NOT sent to the group?

The problem is that sometimes there are as many as 8 to 10 calendar events on one day, many only affecting only a few members, and if the whole group gets every reminder, I know some people will opt out of the group rather than have their inbox flooded with emails telling them information that they already know, or that does not apply to them. We only want to view the calendar on the web, and not receive email reminders.
