A stable is a building in which livestock, especially horses, are kept. It most commonly means a building that is divided into separate stalls for individual animals. There are many different types of stables in use today such as the American barn which is a large barn with a door each end and individual stalls inside or free standing stables with the classic top and bottom opening doors. The term "stable" is also used to describe a group of animals kept by one owner, regardless of housing or location.

A horse stable, over 100 years old, still in use Traditional style barn, built 1802, still used as a horse stable A modest stable with a few stalls A shed row-style stable at a riding club in Panama.

The exterior design of a stable can vary widely, based on climate, building materials, historical period, and cultural styles of architecture. A wide range of building materials can be used, including masonry (bricks or stone), wood, and steel. Stables can range widely in size, from a small building to house only one or two animals, to facilities used at agricultural shows or at race tracks, which can house hundreds of animals.

What is the most stable currency for me to store as cash?
Q. It seems like the dollar is dropping a lot in value constantly, so I am wondering what currency would be the best one to keep as cash in order to avoid big inflation. Is the euro more stable than the dollar?

What does stable mean when talking about disc golf?
Q. I have been watching a lot of youtube videos about disc golf, and they keep saying the word "stable." Does that mean flying straight?

A. Yes when people are talking about Stable they are talking about a disc that is fairly straight. Then of course you also have overstable and understable. Some examples are: (I don't throw much Discraft so these are all Innova) Stable : TeeBird Overstable: Firebird Understable: Sidewinder If you are starting out everything will most likely seem overstable for you but once you start to develop a form you will start to see the disc start to straighten out for you and do what they are meant to. At the bottom of the following there are some common disc golf terms in case you come across another you aren't sure of. -Chris

What are some questions to ask a new lesson stable?
Q. I'm going to tour the stable and watch a couple lessons of Saddle seat this weekend. I've never ridden Saddle seat before (I've ridden western/english and owned horses before though) and I'm kind of nervous about it. What should I ask them? Thanks.

A. What can I expect from my first lesson/what will I be doing? How should I pay? (Ahead of time, get a bill later, monthly, weekly, per lesson, etc.) What do I need to wear? (I know you've ridden, but ask in case there's something specific to SS you need) Do I need to bring my own helmet? How long will the lesson last? Will there be others riding with me? (In the lesson or just sharing the arena) When should I arrive to prepare for my lesson? What do I need to do before starting the lesson? Have fun! I would love to try saddleseat :).
